Welcome to the March issue of our HGCS newsletter and meeting announcement.

We appreciated Shayna Brown and Jeff Bettinger presenting at our February meeting. Shayna and Jeff discussed the industry demographics and how to engage
and retain all the members on our teams. It was very enlightening and confirmed what we are seeing in the industry and our workplaces. Thank you Shayna and Jeff – great presentation.

HGC Section meetings have many benefits, but one major benefit is the networking that is encouraged by our section leaders. Local recruiters have a special invitation to each monthly meeting, and introduce job opportunities in our area and some outside our immediate area. If you are looking for your next opportunity, come join us and bring copies of your resume.

Steven Buck from BASF will be our speaker at the March meeting. Steven has 28 years experience and will be discussing how BASF incorporates Value Improving Practices into its projects. Don’t miss this interesting topic.

Our section will be hosting the next round of certification exams on March 6, 2010. We have 15 individuals who are making their last minute reviews prior to next Saturday’s exams. We wish each of them much success. Certification is a great marketing plan for yourself and your career – invest in your future – get certified.
